You Have Succeeded In Life – When All You Really Want Is Only What You Really Need
There’s a lot that has happened in the past year in terms of how our life changed in different aspects and this made me think a lot what is it that will come out of all this? For me, it was the “little things” that mattered the most and I believe for most of us it was the same. As we went through emotional turmoil, it changed our lives like never before.
It has made huge impacts on everyone’s life. pre-pandemic everyone’s life was chaotic, we were trying to run before time. Having leisure time was a dream for many. So, expecting them to take out some time for nature, thinking about little things seemed to be impossible. From the poem leisure recalling a line here: “no time to stand and spare.” We didn’t have time to see the beauty of nature. In March 2020, the spark of coronavirus ignited everywhere in the world and so to prevent the cause lockdown was imposed in each that had its effect. Every place was shut and we were forced to sit at our homes. There was neither any movement of peoples on-road nor do any of the shops were open. As Mahatma Gandhi says, “Earth has everything for everyone’s need but not for anyone’s greed.” This is what 2020 has taught us, fighting for survival, living for survival, and not for greed. When in lockdown everyone of us was at home, we looked at the nature around us very closely, like seeing the sky changing its color, birds chirping, roads covered with dogs, roads were clean. We made some lifestyle changes. In doing so, we picked some eco-friendly activities, which have now become my mantras for a healthy and sustainable life. After seeing all this we, humans were ashamed of what we have done to nature. And so post-pandemic living life was not a thing but how we can live without disturbing nature is a thing. This is what we call sustainable living. In the field of fashion: Every other blogger and influencer used to show their new clothes but now they show common people how to style the same clothing piece in different ways. on the other hand, offices were forced to start their work from home which saved tonnes and tonnes of energy, electricity. Govt started making campaigns like adopt stray dogs. After years and years, Ganga was clean again, we could have even seen dolphins in them. Throwing garbage on the streets is not a thing anymore for most of us, cleaning the streets are a new trend. Talking to nature in our free time and thinking of how we conserve these beautiful things that earth has given us as a gift is a new thing post-pandemic.
These little steps changed life post-pandemic.
With this came the idea of Amalgam while I was decluttering my mom’s wardrobe I realized that 30% of her clothes were of no use to her and out of which 15% were worn not more than once. With that, I buckled up and started working on Amalgam!
Little did I know this passion will take a route to something this meaningful and needful.
About time, Amalgam got its root with the idea of creating awareness about sustainable and slow fashion
We may already be doing a few of these things, or perhaps all of it, which is fantastic! But hopefully, with these little habits, you’ll pick up some opportunities to do your part to help mother nature.
